HLB co-brands credit card with the Associated Chinese Chambers of Commerce

Kuala Lumpur, 17 June 2008 - Hong Leong Bank (HLB) today announced its strategic partnership with the Associated Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Malaysia (ACCCIM) with the launch of the Hong Leong ACCCIM credit card under the VISA brand. This move further strengthens HLB's position in the business community segment.

The Hong Leong ACCCIM credit card is targeted at ACCCIM members who seek business networking opportunities and value-for-money added features in a credit card.

"ACCCIM has an impressive roster of members - 28,000 companies and more than 81,000 members in the Trade Associations. It's 61 years of existence has seen many of it's members businesses prosper and rise to become captains of industries, " said Ms Yvonne Chia, HLB's Group Managing Director at the official launch held at Wisma Hong Leong. "The co-branded card provides the cardholders the recognition of their affiliation with the Association," added Chia.

Members and affiliates of ACCCIM's constituents can apply for the Hong Leong ACCCIM credit card at any of Hong Leong Bank's branches nationwide or at any of ACCCIM's Constituent Members' offices located in major towns across the country.

Some of the benefits of the credit card include, but are not limited to, annual fee waiver for first 3 years, consolidated year end statement, pre-approved 3x trading line for Hong Leong E-broking and a FREE Touch N Go Zing Visa Card for principal cardmembers.

The Hong Leong ACCCIM credit card is packed with privileges that are above what the generic Hong Leong credit card has to offer. Cardholders have the option to personalize their credit card through the embossing of their company name on it.  An exclusive feature is that cardholders are able to plough back their reward points, accumulated through normal retail spending to the Association to help fund future programs.

Among those present at the signing ceremony held at Wisma Hong Leong were ACCCIM President, Tan Sri William Cheng and other respected leaders of the Chinese business community.

ACCCIM is the national level organization of the Chinese Chambers of Commerce in the country. Founded in 1947, ACCCIM is an established autonomous private sector organization with 17 constituent members located separately in the 13 states of the nation.
