Hong Leong Bank Vietnam (“HLBVN”) values your trust in us and respects the need to maintain the security and confidentiality of information that you provide to us, whether or not you are a Hong Leong Bank customer, a registered user or a visitor to our website. All data provided to HLBVN by you or acquired by HLBVN from the public domain, as well as data that arise as a result of the provision of the Services to you by HLBVN, whether through Hong Leong Connect or otherwise, will be subject to the Privacy Policy of HLBVN and may be amended from time to time.   

This Privacy Policy is designed to explain some of the Privacy Principles that we abide by in providing a responsible and reliable online financial service. Copies of the Privacy Policy of HLBVN are available upon request or from the HLBVN website.

We protect your information safely in a high security data centre, adhering to stringent security controls, measures and protocols to safeguard the privacy of your information. Security Statement

We in Hong Leong Bank Vietnam (“HLBVN”) will at all times use our best efforts to ensure that all information disclosed, shared, stored or used and any transactions performed by you through Hong Leong Vietnam Connect Biz digital banking website are kept secure, safe, private and confidential. For this purpose, we have put in place security measures and privacy protection control systems designed to ensure that the security, integrity, privacy and confidentiality of your information and transactions are not compromised.

Use of Information

The information that we gather is primarily used to provide you with Connect BIZ you have requested, to evaluate your creditworthiness, to prevent fraud and to offer additional products or services that we believe might be of benefit to you. Your data may be used by HLVN and/or of its related companies for the following purposes:-

• Meeting any legal, governmental or regulatory requirement in Vietnam or any other applicable jurisdiction, including disclosure or notification requirements.

The following disclosure are mandatory and you will not have the right to opt-out of such disclosure:-

• when it is required or permitted by law i.e. where disclosure is required or permitted under legislation or regulation, government agency or court order.
• when it is in the public interest i.e. where disclosure is required to protect the interest of the public for example in the detection of crimes, etc.
• where it is authorised by you.
• when we are collecting debts from you i.e. where disclosure is made to any debt collection or credit reference agency or similar provider of debt collection or credit information services to HLBVN or its related companies.
• where the disclosure of information to third parties (including agents, contractors, service providers or any other person/companies rendering professional services to HLBVN and/or its related parties) is for the purpose of such third party providing services or products to HLVN or its related companies and such third parties have given their undertaking to maintain the confidentiality of such information.

Accuracy of Information

We understand that keeping your data and information accurate and complete is very important. You can help us keep accurate records by informing us of any changes so that we can update our records accordingly. If you have any reason to believe that our records of you are inaccurate, incomplete or not current, please write in to us upon which we will promptly rectify any such errors.

Employee Access

Employee access is limited to authorized employees who are fully trained in the handling of your information and those with a business reason for knowing the information. These employees are required to carefully preserve the confidentiality of your information and to respect your privacy at all times. Employees who have access to your information will be subject to disciplinary action should they fail to observe this Privacy Policy.

Username and Password

To control access to our Hong Leong Connect Biz services, every customer is required to input your Username and Password. The Username and Password are the access key to your financial information. To ensure the integrity of your Password, you are advised to do the following:-

• When choosing a Password, do not choose one that can be easily guessed by other person(s).

• If you have forgotten your Password, please contact your corporate system administrator or HLBVN branch that your account opened to have new Password.

Token & TAC (Transaction Authorization Code)

For certain financial transactions, the customer is required to request for and input a Transaction Authorisation Code (“TAC”) number in order to validate the transaction. TAC number will be generated from mobile phone or a physical device named token when you are conducting that specific transaction. Each TAC number is valid for a single transaction only and will expire after three (3) minutes. In order to have TAC, customer is also required to enter a Personal Identification Number (“PIN”) to unlock the security device if it is token. The PIN and The TAC should not be revealed nor made accessible to anyone else. It should not be disclosed even when requested to do so by an authorised officer of HLBVN.

Data Privacy, Confidentiality and Integrity

To ensure data privacy, confidentiality and integrity, all information disclosed, shared, stored or used and any transactions performed by you through Hong Leong Connect Biz digital banking website are encrypted using the Secure Sockets Layer secured 256-bit from Verisign Certificate Authority.

System Security and Monitoring

To provide a secured environment for Hong Leong Connect Biz website, HLBVN adopts a combination of system security and monitoring measures:

• Firewall systems, strong data encryption, anti-virus protection and round the clock security surveillance systems to detect and prevent any form of illegitimate activities on our network systems.

It is your responsibility to safeguard your online information and transactions by taking all reasonable measures which may include the following:

• Do not share your information or provide any opportunities for anyone to gain access to your information through your personal electronic devices.
• Do not click on internet links provided in email/ SMS which directs you to a Hong Leong Connect website. Always manually type our URL address www.hongleongconnect.com.vn in your internet browser.
• Always ensure that you are on a genuine Hong Leong Connect website by checking the secure protocol on current domain (https://) and SSL certificate (represented by a lock/key sign) besides the green address bar on your browser.
• Always log out before visiting other Internet sites or once you have completed your transactions.
• Always ensure that you have the necessary and appropriate security software and firewall installed at your computer, in particular if you are using a wireless internet connection.
• Always update your internet browser when new versions are released because they often include new security features.
• Check your internet browser for built-in safety features that you may or may not elect to use.
• Always clear your internet cache after you log out from an online session.
