Hong Leong Bank is the first bank in Malaysia to offer all three cross-border cash withdrawal service via participating ATMsat ASEAN countries - Thailand, Indonesia, and Singapore. The service is available to Hong Leong Bank ATM cardholders with Artajasa (Indonesia), NETS(Singapore) and ITMX (Thailand). The collaboration is very much in line with Hong Leong Bank's vision of having an integrated e-Payment network servingHLBB customers as well as travelers to Malaysia from these countries, which is expected to be a catalyst for tourism and trade among ASEAN nations.
For Hong Leong Bank cardholders, this service makes cash withdrawals more convenient and cost-effective in participating foreign countries. Customers nolonger need to go through the hassle of looking for a moneychanger to get their currencies. Instead, they have ready access to a network of 7,743 ATMs inMalaysia, Singapore, Indonesia and Thailand providing cash, in a secured and safe manner, when required. The cross-border ATM transactions are expected togrow as more banks participate in this service.
In September 2007, Hong Leong Bank will also be the first bank in collaboration with China Union Pay (CUP) and MEPS to offer this service to incoming CUPcardholders. China Union Pay (CUP) is the only Interbank network in China (excluding Hong Kong and Macau), linking the ATMs of some fourteen major banksthroughout Mainland China. China Union Pay card holders will be able to withdraw using any Hong Leong Bank ATM throughout Malaysia.
