Inaugural Hong Leong Bank Golf Invitational fosters closer ties with the southern community

The inaugural Hong Leong Bank Golf Invitational organized recently by the Wholesale Banking Division of Hong Leong Bank (HLB) proved to be a hit with thesouthern community.
This premium hospitality event is made up of three legs, the first of which was held in Penang, the second recently held in Johor and the culminating eventbeing held in Kuala Lumpur. The Johor leg of the golf invitational saw existing clients of HLB, representatives from the business communities and tradeassociations as well as other specially invited guests gathered together for a day of fun on the green.
Mr Lim Kang San, a valued client of HLB, is an Independent Director of Ye Chiu Metal Smelting Bhd , beat 45 other players, to emerge as the Johor leg HongLeong Bank Golf Invitational champion with 35 Stableford points. Mr. Lim walked away with a handsome crystal trophy and a 32" Samsung LCD TV.
Participants also had a chance to do their bit for charity with several novelty challenges planned throughout the course. With a minimum donation of RM10,golfers were able to participate in the 'Beat The Pro Challenge'. Together with Hong Leong Bank, the proceeds of RM12,000 was donated to the PersatuaanPenjagaan Kanak-Kanak Terencat Akal, a home for special children.
Meantime, a Yamaha 135LC Extreme Spirit motorcycle for Persatuaan Penjagaan Kanak-Kanak Terencat Akal sponsored by Hong Leong Yamaha Malaysia and a ToyotaCamry 2.0G A/T sponsored by Maxis Mobile Services were slated as hole-in-one prizes. Unfortunately, following the Penang leg, no one managed to sink ahole-in-one for the Johor leg as well.
The Hong Leong Bank Golf Invitational proved to be an excellent way to foster closer ties with the regional communities and to work in synergy with HongLeong Group partners.
