HLTM Takaful launches NEW child education scheme

Kuala Lumpur, 30 March 2009

An education scheme that protects your child for the future

Hong Leong Tokio Marine Takaful Berhad (HLTM Takaful) today announced the launch of its "HLTMT i-Grad" scheme, a long-term education savings scheme tohelp finance your child's education expenses while providing protection (Takaful).

Under the HLTMT i-Grad scheme, parents will be able to contribute from as low as RM70 per month. Unlike other education savings schemes that set thescheme's maturity on the child's 18th birthday, HLTMT i-Grad gives parents the flexibility to determine for themselves when the scheme matures - when thechild reaches 19, 21, 23 or 25 years of age.

"In today's global economy, a good solid education is a must. We at HLTM Takaful believe that access to education can be assured through a scheme that hasthe family's interests at its core - we keep the contributions low so that parents are not unnecessarily burdened and we provide the added benefit ofprotection," said Encik Ab Latiff Abu Bakar, Chief Executive Officer of Hong Leong Tokio Marine Takaful.

"With the cost of education rising each year, it is understandable why parents need to start saving very early on. The HLTMT i-Grad with its low monthlycontribution allows parents to save for their child's education leaving them with enough room to provide for the rest of their family's needs today."

Aside from the low monthly contribution, other distinct benefits of HLTMT i-Grad is its Back to School benefits whereby a child is entitled to RM100 peryear at the beginning of each school year from age 8 to 18 years old.

Another added advantage of this scheme is the exam benefits which reward HLTMT i-Grad participants for excellent academic achievements. HLTMT i-Gradparticipants will be rewarded with a RM100 for every 'A' received for primary (UPSR) and secondary (PMR & SPM) school exams; RM1,500 for a CGPA of 3.5and above for diploma graduates and RM2,000 for either first class honours or a CGPA of 3.5 and above for university graduates.

"At HLTM Takaful we strongly believe in the power of motivation and reward. i-Grad participants who achieve excellent academic results are assured of areward for all their hard work," added Encik Ab Latiff.

Children covered under this scheme will also have an additional layer of protection via payor benefits rider (PBR). In the event of unfortunate death ordisability of the parent, the child will still be protected under this scheme and payment of further installments shall be waived.

HLTMT i-Grad is made available through HLTMT Family Takaful agents. For more information, please call 03-21642339 or e-mail us atReachUS@hltm.hongleong.com.my or visit our website www.hltmt.com.my or contact our friendly Personal Financial Consultants at your nearest HLBB branch.
