Celcom Axiata Berhad is collaborating with Hong Leong Bank Berhad (HLB) to introduce SafePay, a mobile Point of Sales (mPOS) terminal, for businesses.
Understanding the evolution of Malaysia’s e-payment ecosystem and the growing trend of cashless transaction among Malaysians, Celcom and HLBB have provided an affordable and secure electronic payment method which can be used even by small start-ups, and further supports Bank Negara Malaysia’s objective of moving towards a cashless society.
It is so convenient that business owners only need a mobile phone or tablet to be paired with Celcom SafePay mPOS via Bluetooth, and install a dedicated app in their device, to make credit and debit card transactions anytime, anywhere.
Celcom SafePay mPOS is also ideal for Small and Medium Enterprises as it offers a low Merchant Discount Rate (MDR) of 0.5% and 1.5% for debit and credit cards respectively. Business owners no longer have to worry about having a dedicated phone line, and will be able to track transactions efficiently with Celcom SafePay’s e-receipt and online report system.
Surinderdeep Singh, Head of Enterprise Business and Solutions, Celcom Axiata Berhad, said that the collaboration with HLB signifies the telco’s commitment to creating an awesome customer experience by providing the best solutions to a range of business needs.
“We are proud to be one of the leading digital solution providers and will continue to explore new partnerships to remain innovative. Celcom SafePay offers businesses the convenience of being mobile as it allows them to make transactions wherever they are, at their convenience,” he added.
“The strategic partnership with Celcom further enables HLB to strengthen our presence in the mobile point of sales (mPOS) merchant market. Putting two entities that share the same vision in offering a seamless, convenient and secure mobile payment terminal is a perfect complement”, said Charles Sik, Managing Director of Personal Financial Services, Hong Leong Bank.
He added, “As more people make cashless payments, there will be a growing need to provide our customers with a seamless, agile and convenient point of sales system. Gone are the days when business owners can only conduct cashless transactions physically in their shops, with a merchant device connected to a physical phone line. With just a mobile phone or a tablet and mPOS device from HLB, business owners can conduct their business wherever they are.“
