What is Samsung Pay?
Samsung Pay is a secure and easy-to-use mobile payment service which can be used to make purchases nearly everywhere. Samsung Pay uses a new proprietary technology called Magnetic Secure Transmission (MST) and Near Field Communication (NFC) to make mobile payments more accessible to both merchants and consumers.
How does Samsung Pay work?
Samsung pay uses proprietary MST and NFC to make contactless mobile payments. MST and NFC enables the Galaxy S8, Galaxy S8+, Galaxy S6 edge+, Galaxy S7, Galaxy S7 edge, Galaxy Note5, Galaxy Note8, Galaxy Note Fan Edition, Galaxy A7(2016), Galaxy A5(2016), Galaxy A7(2017) and Galaxy A5(2017), Galaxy A9 Pro to make secure transactions with nearly every payment terminal in the world.
Where can I use Samsung Pay?
Samsung Pay is accepted almost anywhere that you can swipe or tap your credit card. It makes transactions super easy. Just swipe up to launch the app, secure with your iris*, fingerprint or 4-digit PIN, and hover over the card reader to pay.
Which Hong Leong Card can I register on Samsung Pay?
All Hong Leong Credit or Debit/-i Cards for consumers (including both Visa & Mastercard) can be used on Samsung Pay. You can add up to a maximum of ten (10) Cards in each device. Note: Hong Leong Business Platinum Credit Card is not allowed for Samsung Pay.
Can I add my Card to more than one Samsung Pay app on separate devices?
No, you can only add an eligible Hong Leong Visa/Mastercard Credit or Debit/-i Card to one Samsung Pay Device.
How secure are transactions on Samsung Pay?
Your Card in Samsung Pay is protected by your iris*, finger print or Samsung Pay PIN. For security purposes, you must authorize the payment with your iris*, fingerprint or Samsung Pay PIN when you make a purchase using Samsung Pay. A digital card number, separate and unique from your plastic card account number, is used to make a purchase with Samsung Pay. All of your payment information will be stored securely on your phone using Samsung KNOX. Your plastic card details are never shown in the app or shared with the merchant when you make payments.
*Iris Scanner may be unable to read your iris where view of your iris is impaired of the appearance of your iris changes, including where you are wearing certain types of glasses or coloured contact lenses.
