INVITATION TO APPLY FOR PERMANENT INCREASE IN CREDIT LIMIT – TERMS & CONDITIONS

The following sets out the terms and conditions applicable to the Invitation to apply for Permanent Increase in Credit Limit (“T&Cs”).

ELIGIBILITY AND MECHANICS

1. The Invitation to apply for Permanent Increase in Credit Limit (“PICL”) is open to existing invited principal cardholders (“Invited Cardholders”) of Hong Leong Bank Berhad (193401000023 (97141-X)) (“HLB”) credit cards (“Credit Card”) i.e. those cardholders who have received an Electronic Direct Mailer (“eDM”) and/or Short Message Service (“SMS”) from HLB inviting them to apply for an increase in credit limit in respect of the Credit Card via the process in the said eDM and/or SMS.

2. In the event an Invited Cardholder applies for PICL, the application shall be subject to HLB’s approval. HLB’s decision on all matters relating to the PICL application will be made at its discretion in accordance with its internal policies and Bank Negara Malaysia (“BNM”) guidelines.

3. The PICL application shall be processed within seven (7) Business Days, subject to HLB having received the response from the Invited Cardholder via eDM and/or SMS (which response shall include a consent for HLB to use the Invited Cardholder’s personal information captured in HLB’s system for processing of this PICL application). Upon completion of the processing, the Invited Cardholder shall be notified of HLB’s decision. A “Business Day” refers to a day when HLB in Kuala Lumpur is open for business.

4. The Invited Cardholder acknowledges and understands that if the PICL application is approved by HLB, the increase in credit limit approved will be reflected in the Central Credit Reference Information Systems (“CCRIS”) or any credit bureau maintained by BNM.

GENERAL

5. The invited Cardholders:

(a) agree to inform HLB as soon as possible of any changes to their personal information, such as contact number, mailing address, occupation, etc.;

(b) agree that HLB’s decision on all matters relating to the PICL shall be final, conclusive and binding on all invited Cardholders;

(c) confirm that they have read, understood and agree to be bound by the general terms and conditions in the HLB’s Cardholder Agreement, the terms and conditions of the relevant HLB relevant Credit Card and these T&Cs herein;

(d) agree to access HLB’s website at www.hlb.com.my (“HLB’s Website”) at regular intervals to view the terms and conditions of the relevant HLB Credit Card and keep up-to-date on any changes or variations to the said terms and conditions.

6. HLB reserves the right to:

(a) reject the PICL application submitted by the invited Cardholders;

(b) disqualify any invited Cardholders from applying for PICL; and

(c) add to, supplement, delete, suspend or vary the T&Cs contained herein, either wholly or in part, at HLB’s discretion, by way of posting on HLB’s Website, or in any manner deemed suitable by HLB at any time with prior notice.

7. In addition to the T&Cs herein, the invited Cardholders agree that the PICL shall be subject to the terms and conditions in HLB’s Cardholder Agreement and the terms and conditions of the relevant HLB Credit Card. In the event of any discrepancies between these T&Cs, the terms and conditions contained in the HLB’s Cardholder Agreement and terms and conditions of the relevant HLB Credit Card; the specific T&Cs herein shall prevail to the extent of such discrepancies.

8. The T&Cs herein shall also prevail over any discrepancies between the T&Cs herein and any advertising, publicity and other materials relating to or in connection with PICL. The T&Cs herein shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Malaysia and the Invited Cardholders agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Courts of Malaysia.

Please note that any Hong Leong Bank Berhad’s Cardholder can request for a decrease in credit limit on the Cardholder’s Hong Leong Bank Credit Card at any time by calling Hong Leong Contact Centre at 03-7626 8899.
