Hong Leong Bank and Hong Leong Islamic Bank “Spread Joy When You Makan Campaign”
With reference to the above Campaign, Hong Leong Bank and Hong Leong Islamic Bank (“the Bank”) have raised a total of Ringgit Malaysia One Hundred Ninety-Nine Thousand Nine Hundred Ninety-Nine and Sixty-Eight Cents (RM199,999.68) during the Campaign Period (21 September 2021 – 30 November 2021). The fund is to aid the impoverished students who rely on their schools to provide them with meals, and are often not targeted for aid as they do not live-in welfare homes, but with their families.
The spike in the recent Covid-19 cases and the recent floods caused by torrential rain across several states in the country has caused a delay for the fulfilment of this Campaign. The Bank has reached out and engage with several schools nationwide to identify students in need of the donation. The Bank is in the midst of gathering all the information and sourcing to purchase dry goods for the impoverished students. The students will be able to receive the dry goods by 31 March 2022.
