HLISB Enriches Ihya’ Ramadan 2026 at Masjid Jamek: A Fusion of Spiritual Literacy and Modern Stewardship
Volunteers from Hong Leong Islamic Bank participated in the preparation and distribution of bubur lambuk at Masjid Jamek Sultan Abdul Samad, in support of the mosque’s Ihya’ Ramadan 2026 programme.
KUALA LUMPUR, 6 March 2026 – In the heart of Kuala Lumpur, where tradition meets the bustling pace of modern economy, Hong Leong Islamic Bank (“HLISB” or “the Bank”) has joined hands with the historic Masjid Jamek Sultan Abdul Samad in support of the mosque’s Ihya’ Ramadan 2026 programme. This initiative represents a profound alignment between spiritual enrichment and the Bank’s refreshed wealth proposition, “Timeless Principles Guiding Tomorrow’s Wealth.”
By weaving its Islamic Wealth Management framework into the fabric of Ramadan traditions, the Bank is demonstrating that true financial stewardship is inseparable from community well-being and spiritual growth.
Central to today’s collaboration is the Tadarrus Al-Quran & Education initiative. HLISB believes that Al-Quran recitation represents a profound form of wealth for the spirit and a guiding asset that provides the clarity needed for a purposeful life. To support the mosque’s daily Quranic sessions, HLISB is honoring 24 Tadarrus Al-Quran teachers with a RM300 token in recognition of their role as spiritual stewards. These tokens are facilitated through the opening of HLISB Meezani Account-i, a Shariah-compliant vehicle that encourages disciplined saving and ethical wealth creation, blending tradition with financial empowerment.
In the spirit of giving back to the community, 30 HLISB staff volunteers were on-site today to participate in the mosque’s iconic bubur lambuk distribution program. During the morning session, volunteers worked alongside mosque officials in the communal preparation and slow-cooking of the traditional porridge. This was followed by an evening session where staff members assisted in distributing the packs to the local community and commuters.
Dafinah Ahmed Hilmi, CEO of HLISB, shared that as the Bank marks 20 years of operation, it is stepping forward with a refreshed wealth proposition anchored on clarity of purpose to make Islamic wealth management simple, seamless, and truly value-creating for customers and the community through its alignment with the five pillars of Islamic Wealth Management: Creation, Accumulation, Preservation, Purification, and Distribution.
“Ramadan is a sacred time of reflection, renewal, and giving, a period of profound introspection and intentional connection. As we observe the holy month here at the historic Masjid Jamek Sultan Abdul Samad, we are reminded that true stewardship begins with the wealth of the spirit. By supporting the Mosque’s educators and community programs today, we are bringing our refreshed wealth proposition, 'Timeless Principles Guiding Tomorrow’s Wealth', to life through the values of compassion and service. When we empower the community, we help nurture a more inclusive and resilient society for all.”
