Hong Leong Bank Offers Card Protection

Only 21 sen a day for convenience, protection and total peace of mind
Hong Leong Bank (HLB) today inked an agreement with Card Protection Plan Limited (CPP), to be the first local bank to introduce Card Protection, a newconsumer assistance service. For only 21 sen a day, HLB customers can have protection against unauthorized use of their lost or stolen credit, debit andATM cards.
This innovative service provides direct assistance to customers to give them peace of mind in their hour of need. When customers experience that theircards have been lost or stolen, they only need to make one phone call and all their cards will be cancelled within minutes, thus reducing fraud andfinancial loss. And when abroad, Card Protection offers travel assistance benefits which include emergency cash advance, hotel bill payment and replacementof lost travel tickets. Customers can also be reimbursed for the replacement costs for lost valuable documents such as identity cards, passports anddriving licence.
According to Ms Yvonne Chia, HLB Group Managing Director, " Consumers today carry many cards, and more often than not, they do not keep in mind the numbersto call when any of these get lost or stolen. With Card Protection, there is no need for panic and fear because with just a single phone call, free ofcharge, from anywhere in the world, all lost or stolen cards are canceled. "

HLB offers this service to its broad base of customers - from retail accountholders , credit card customers to Priority Banking customers. Card Protectionoffers two types of memberships - the annual fee for a single membership is RM78 and RM98 for a household membership which covers up to 5 persons residingat the same address. Having recently launched its Priority Banking, HLB now offers free Card Protection for a period of 6 months as an added benefit andexclusive privilege to its Priority Banking customers.
